The Telethon Kids Institute Ear Health research team investigates the causes, impact, treatment, management and prevention of ear disease and hearing loss. Otitis media (OM) is the most common ear infection and occurs in the middle ear. This is a research project for Aboriginal children and they need to be enrolled before 2 months of age. It is very common in children and can cause a significant hearing loss that can have lasting effects on a child’s development and education.
